Description:
Visit of the Koutoubia mosque, (12th century) from outside.
Then cross the Mellah with its unique architecture.
Your tour guide will show you some monuments on the way you may visit later: Badiaa Palace, Bahia Palace, Tiskiwin Museum, Dar Si Said Museum...
Then head towards the Souks crossing one of the typical districts of the old city.
Your guide will help you wander in the colorful labyrinths of the main Souks and discover different handicraft specialties and hundreds of shops.
Walk along Musée de Marrakech, 16th-century Medersa Ben Youssef university, and the 11th-century Kouba Almoravide before heading back to the big square Jama el Fna.

NB:
1- It's about a short Orientation walking tour, simple and very useful to do at the beginning of your trip for a helpful orientation.
2- It is a tour to visit parts of the old city of Marrakech, it is not a historical tour to visit monuments but your tour guide will show you some monuments on the way you may visit later.

Meeting point:
To be in the right meeting point, you first need to be in the big square called JAMAA EL FNA and then look for the post office and I'll be in front of BARID CASH of the post office, wearing a white hat and holding a sign saying: Zaim free walking tours.
There are 2 sides of the post office. The main entrance, the big door in front of Jamaa El Fna Square and a small door with a sign of BARID CASH on top, at the other side of the post office in front of a garden.
I'll be waiting on the other side of the post office, not the main entrance but in front of the main entrance of Barid Cash near the second ATM of the post office (in front of the garden) in Jamaa El Fan Square.

Advantages:
1- It is a short tour near the meeting point
2- It's under the shadow of the labyrinths of different handicraft streets.
3- These are labyrinths where travelers might need a guide.
This tour is for customers who want to buy spices or carpets and visit parts of the famous Souks (Handicrafts market) of Marrakech.
NB: Due to the short time of this tour it will not be possible to stop in many shops.
After a short introduction about Marrakech and the tour, visit to a Carpet shop where you will have explanations about different carpets from different regions and different technics.
Afterward visit a spices and medicinal plants shop (about 40 minutes) where you will have very interesting and also pleasant explanations about plants, spices, cosmetic products, and other products.
Then cross the main street of the Souks towards other famous Medina quarters under the shadow of the Souks.
Your guide will help you wander in the colorful labyrinths of the main Souks and discover different handicraft specialties and hundreds of shops.
before heading back towards the meeting point in the big square Jamaa el Fna.

Ontmoetingsplaats: Voor het ingang van BARID CASH van het Postkantoor in Jamaa El Fna Square voor de tuin. Er zijn 2 kanten van de postkantoor.
Ik zal wachten aan de andere kant van het postkantoor, niet het hoofd ingang maar voor het ingang van BaridCash aan de andere kant voor de tuin.
VERTREK: 11 AM, 2:30 PM en 5 PM.
Beschrijving:
De tocht duurt min of meer 2 uren.
Bezoek van de moskee Koutoubia, (12de eeuw) van de buitenkant.
Dan lopen langs de beroemde Mellah wijk met zijn unieke architectuur.
Dan gaan door één van de typische districten van de oude stad benoemd Medina naar de beroemde Souks van Marrakech.
Uw gids zal u helpen om door de kleurrijke labyrinten van de Souks te wandelen en dus verschillende ambachtsspecialiteiten en honderden winkels te ontdekken.
Daarna lopen langs Musée De Marrakech, Medersa Ben Youssef, Kouba Almoravide en teruggaan naar Jama El Fna Square.
Na het eind van de tocht, is er een mogelijkheid voor geïnteresseerden om een traditionele medicijnen winkel te bezoeken en uitleg krijgen over verschillende planten, specerijen en cosmetica (50 minuten).
Hoogtepunten: Postkantoor in Jamaa El Fna- Koutoubia moskee-Mellah-Riad Zitoun – Souks-Post – kantoor.
1- Jamaa El Fna Square: een werelderfenis, een beroemde plaats met spektakel, musici, verhalenvertellers, komedianten, acrobaten…
2- De Koutoubia moskee: Historische moskee gebouwde deur de Almohaden in de 12de eeuw.
3- Riad Zitoun: een typische wijk van de Medina waar uw gids zal u vertellen waar sommige monumenten zich bevinden zoals: 16de eeuw Badiaa Paleis, 19de eeuw Bahia Paleis, Tiskiwin en Darsi sai Musea.
